NEWS

From The Boathouse

DSC Participates in Annual Marina Event - "Get out on the Water!"

2/6/2015

THANKS to Jeanine Fuller and all those who helped in so many ways, DSC had a terrific booth: it had a drawing for a sculling lesson and a Bass Pro Shop gift card, video of sculling, a Maas single on display, an erg and the debut of Linda Payne's new oar boxes (a big hit).  We also handed out gummy worms to all with a wonderful cartoon reminding boaters of their wake and what it does to rowers on the water.

Lots of help setting up the booth with Linda A, Carol, Linda P, Angela and Bob L  Thanks Bob and Renaldo for trying to get the generator to work. And no act is too small - thank you Dorbea for supplying rocks to hold down flyers - they were needed as the wind picked up!

Coach Steve, Angela and Bob L helped coach people on the erg and demonstrated the stroke with the oars!! Check out Coach Bob as he instructs this awesome new erger in the attached Record article on Sunday.  Fab technique - how did you get him rowing so well, Bob, so quickly???

Brian definitely helped hold down the fort and was great at visiting the other booths and getting to know our neighbors, Great marketing!

Karen, Valdez, Tom and Theresa, thank you for talking to our visitors and staffing the booth in the afternoon.

Tearing down the booth and getting everything back to the boathouse went very smoothly with Theresa, Valdez, Brian, Pat, Bob and Bob O's family.

It takes a village!  And a village with an incredible leader is even more successful - so ultimately it comes back to our event planner extraordinaire, Jeanine Fuller (who spent the ENTIRE Day on site) for helping us pull off another great success! A final big thank you to you, Jeanine!

Thanks one and all!  And thanks to everyone else who wanted to make it but couldn't due to other commitments.  We know it was a busy weekend, given the holidays, and even if you weren't there, we felt your support!
